South Africa’s Rolene Strauss On Winning Miss World

Yesterday, 22 year South African medical student Rolene Strauss made South Africa and the rest of Africa proud by winning the 2014 Miss World pageant. The African beauty was crowned the 64th Miss World winner in London yesterday.

“Words can’t possibly describe how blessed I feel at this moment…
This is as much a responsibility as it is an honour. I hope to make each and every one proud. Thank you for the support South Africa, I love you!
I will do my utmost best every single day, because it is about so much more than us…” – Rolene Strauss

Rolene is the third South African ever to hold the title, the first South African in 40 years years to be crowned and the first African to win Miss World in over 12 years.
