There’s an undeniable growing market in skilled African artisans collaborating with international high fashion brands. With Ghana and Kenya being at the forefront of this trade and art of collaboration, we explore how Australian label Sass and Bide incorporated bead work into the brand’s accessories line. The collection of accessories is hand crafted from colourful beads, by Kenyan artisans, via ITC Ethical Fashion Initiative.
For our fourth installment, we have created a limited edition shopper & purse. The designs embrace the tribal elements that are central to the sass & bide aesthetic, hand beaded with the all important message… ‘LOVE MORE’.
Two small words that could change the world. – Sass & Bide
Sass & Bide has been working with craftswomen in Africa since 2012 when they created a special range of beaded bags made by women from East African tribes.
