Visual Digest: Doors Of Cape Town

A visual digest of memorable works, pictures and texts.

Apart from the physical object, the word door is often used as a metaphor. Radio and TV writer Andy Rooney once said: “The closing of a door can bring blessed privacy and comfort – the opening, terror. Conversely, the closing of a door can be a sad and final thing – the opening a wonderfully joyous moment”, and we totally agree!

“Don’t spend time beating on a wall, hoping to transform it into a door.”, Coco Chanel said on the subject, while actor Milton Berle said this profound statement about making opportunities instead of waiting for them to be handed over,  “If opportunity doesn’t knock, build a door.”

In this post we highlight some of our favourite and inspiring images of doors, courtesy of Instagramer @Doorsofcapetown. From modern, to colourful and ancient inspired, we venture into a journey of beautiful doors shot in and around the beautiful city of Cape Town, South Africa.
